Federation of Self Help Groups of elderly persons № 5 «Kemin» is located in Shabdan village, Kemin rayon, Chui oblast.
Activity of the federation is carried out on the following directions:
- Providing range of services to elderly people of Kemin rayon;
- Support of Elderly Persons Self Help Groups – member of FSHG «Kemin»;
- Assistance in promotion of products of SHG;
- Lobbying interests of elderly persons and Self Help Groups;
- Advocacy of activity of FSHG «Kemin» in mass media;
- Development and putting proposals on perfection of legislation in the area of elderly persons’ rights and interests protection;
- Arrangement of communications with governmental agencies and society for promotion of elderly persons’ interests;
- Improvement of social-economical life of elderly persons through their activation, involvement into small-scale business and entrepreneurship;
- Involvement of elderly persons in socially useful work for realization of creative and civil capacity of older generation;
- Organization and conducting of training events for members of FSHG «Kemin»;
- Organization and conducting of cultural events;
- Project activity directed at strengthening and development of SHG;
- Keeping the best national traditions on attitudes to elderly persons;
- Strengthening of intergenerational link through creation and development of volunteer teams;
- Conducting of charity and social actions in support to elderly persons;

Leader of SHG «Roza Gulu» Kuljakan eje like flowers very much and grows them in own yard. Before creation of SHG for elderly persons in Kemin rayon, she just presented flowers to relatives and neighbors, choosing flower growing as one of the directions of group’s activity, Kuljakan eje understood that she can have additional earning to the pension by selling flowers. According to her entering to SHG helped her to undercover own capacity, gave new possibilities for development and growth.
According to member of Kemin Federation, the benefit from realization of the project on nutritional support is great. This is first of all saving for pensions, possibility to direct saved funds to other needs. This is improvement of mood from possibility to communicate each other, appearing of the feeling of self-need, interest to life. The possibilities for growth are opened. There was appeared aspiration to movement, making something useful not only for own self, but for others, the faith in own self has been appeared in many members of groups and Federation.
